There’s something extremely special about today’s blog – it’s the 100th blog post to appear on Intervirals.
If you told me a year ago at the start of February, that I would have a blog and keep it updated on most weekends – I probably wouldn’t have believed you at all.
It’s an achievement for someone who never really persisted further than a few months at a blog, before letting it fade away with no updates. Posting about room escapes has become a significant part of my life and fits in with two other great interests of mine – alternate reality games, a concept I found out about by random luck a few years ago and viral advertising stunts – that inspire you or make you think more about the world around you.
Most of all the three topics – room escapes, alternate reality games and viral advertising stunts – share the concept of interrupting daily life with the unexpected or mysterious. I’ve always liked the concept that the world is large enough to contain many mysteries of its own that are awaiting to be discovered – that there is always more to the story and much more than meets the eye.
To celebrate reaching 100 posts and to be still blogging almost a year later – I’m launching Blog February.
What’s Blog February?
It’s the plan to upload a new blog post each day of February and also on the 1st of March 2015.
I’ve never blogged for thirty days in a row – it will be a big challenge and if I miss a day of blogging – there will be two blog posts appearing on Intervirals the day after. I also missed out on talking about a scavenger hunt and alternate reality games in depth, which I was going to talk about as part of The Unlocked Series (blog topics that usually appear on Sunday) – so they are penciled in for particular days and will be talked about this time around.
Come back and visit the Intervirals blog each day of February to read a new blog post – it’s going to be a very, very interesting month. Hopefully it goes well and huge thanks to all who have been part of my journey over the last year, especially if you read this.
